Hi all, great to be able to talk to you all after my kidney cancer surgery last Wednesday. Came home Saturday and seeing a daily improvement in my movement. I have an impressive range of holes in my abdomen - 5 in total, 17 staples but 9 of those are in one cut! Still feeling a bit dopey from the meds but hoping to cut down on those soon. I’ve had to inject myself with the clexane for the last three days (a new skill I didn’t really want to learn) and start back on the apixaban tomorrow.
Apologies if you didn’t read my post last week and this all makes no sense but don’t have the energy for more at the moment. Take care all you wonderful people and thank you all for your support xxx

Kerry here from way up top in Northern Ireland. I had to go back and read your last post and replies. What a fabulous positive nature you have. Probably all that southern sunshine and warm rains. We are having our own uncanny heatwave here, it’s August and it’s still 20 degrees (I hear you laugh) but round about this time of year we are usually preparing for winter 😂
Delighted that your surgery went well and you are on the mend. I was just thinking yesterday how silly a name ET is never mind your Mgus!!
Hope you start to feel back to your good old self soon.
Thanks K. I’ve heard about your unusually hot summer this year. I have to say that summer in the UK is sooo beautiful. We don’t get that brilliant green down here. I’m sure you are all making the most of it. 😀 Take care, Merry
So glad all went well. I’m sending you a virtual bunch of flowers 💐🌷🌺. ( I hope) . That’s the first time I’ve used an emoticon/ anything other than text. Having MF has had the effect of making me get my head round using social media, and sometimes things don't work out. Not always sure what gets onto the site and what doesn't. But I hope the good wishes get through, and that you have plenty of real life help and support.
Hi Rachel and thanks so much for the flowers. The first bunch I’ve received and the first bunch you’ve sent so I’m feeling honoured and thankful. Sorry if that sounds OTT but as a single mum flowers are rare unless I buy them myself! Cheers, Merry x
Hi good news your operation went well you rest up and hope you feel better soon you are doing well giving yourself injections I still can’t do my Pegasys injection lucky my husband can best wishes Poppy
Hi Poppy, giving the injection was actually easier than I thought it would be but that’s possibly because I knew I only had to do it for three days. I take my hat off to those who have to do it regularly. M x
Hi merry,so glad to hear the surgery is out the way & recovery is on the horizon, take your time & look after yourself & above all else rest.sending you some of our sunshine in this sunflower,🌻hope your soon back to A* in health. Sending hugs all the way to you.x🤗
Thanks so much. Looking forward to the return of the sun this year. We’ve had a very wet and windy winter (by our standards) and no double glazing or radiators! Cheers, Merry x
Hi Merry, I also have just read your original post and am delighted that all went well for you. I am also posting from "down under" down under from Kerry that is! Dublin in the South of Ireland. Funny how a couple of months ago before l discovered MPN Voice I had never met a fellow MPN'r and now can read and post from and to fellow sufferers from all over the World.
Look after yourself Merry, take plenty of rest and be happy.
Very Very Best to you for speedy recovery.Sent from P V me ,suffering exhaustion from S W France incredible heat, even for here.....reading your mail makes my problems nothing in comparison.Keep your upbeat vibes, does us all good.xxSally
