Now looking like recruitment pre YE. Think they are seeking 100 HU intolerant/resistant and will compare with best in class.

Exciting because if successful, can be rolled out quickly and cheaply. Been in use since 1940 and in very low dose (for rheumatoid arthritis) since 1980’s.

Surprised taking so long to fund roll out though? Perhaps because generic.

Imo one of the potential major attractions of Methotrexate is that it offers another possible combo treatment with Peg. Dr Hasslebalch is excited by the prospects for combining Ruxo (an anti inflammatory JAK 2 inhibitor) with Peg. Would be great if next year (or perhaps 2020) our treatment options included combination of Ropeg and Methotrexate as first choice (subject to trials!).

In the real world, Methotrexate should be cheap and therefore much more readily available if combo proven!
