Hydroxycarbamide & nauseous
I take mine at night so the side effects occur while I'm asleep. Seems to help. Three months in and I'm feeling more like myself again. xxx
When I had a blood clot to the liver I have ET Jak2+ I was put on hydroxycarbamide I was feeling the same as you are I mentioned this to my Gastrointestinal consultant who was taking care of the liver side and he put me on domperidone which I take three times a day and never looked back within 1 week nausea had vanished
When I first started hydroxy, I ate a biscuit or two at night just before I took the capsule. That seemed to help. After a few weeks, I stopped taking it with food and the nausea has not recurred.
Hi, I used to take domperidone then stopped and the nausea didn't return. Now if the dose goes up it returns a bit but I find I sort of get used to it after a couple of weeks. So it could be that a couple of weeks in you may find it subsides.
Good luck, Fee
Hi there, I do the complete opposite of the others, because of a sensitive stomach, I take mine after my breakfast with a pint of water, more if it's a larger dose.😊
Ginger is supposed to be good for nausea, so I stocked up on ginger biscuits, ginger beer and ginger cake, but touch wood, so far I haven't had any side effects. Mind you I have not felt any benefits either. Still itching like mad, still blurry vision every so often and still heavy breathing.
