I started off getting cramp in my calf’s at night so stretched before bed. This appeared to move the cramping to the muscle running along my shin. For last few months I have elaborate routing to stretching both muscle groups but still need to change angle of my feet during night since if toes point down, calves tend to cramp and vice versa. ie both need to be kept slightly stretched.
However last few days I’ve been stretching the tendon that runs the length of the sole of my foot as well. Kneel with toes facing forward and lean back. Been pretty miraculous, I assume because everything connected. I suspect this tendon extremely tight in a lot of people since tricky to stretch and people wear flip flops and slippers when really need arch supports.
I asked Guys about Vibro Plates, they said should be okay providing no other medical issues. This is a great way to get rid of cramping. Have it near your bed and then rest cramping limb on it with machine on lowest massage setting. Very quickly loosens off the muscles.

Gosh, so glad I read your post. I too have very tight calves and tendons. Not under the foot though. I asked nurse and she said it wasn’t ET related. It was on and off at first but now constant first thing In morning or after a period of sitting down. Thought it could be related to my simvistan I was going to ask the chemist.
What MPN have you got?
So glad you have found a solution. Mine does not seem to be anywhere near as bad as yours. Hope your therapy continues to provide comfort.
Should stress that the sole of foot tendon was not cramping. Been fine in fact. It’s that the ‘breakthrough’ has come from stretching this. Not had shin or calf cramps last three nights. Need to stretch shins/calfs as well
I've posted about cramp on here before. I know mine is a side effect of one of my drugs (desferral for iron chelation). I am currently trying tonic water for the quinine and I think it might be helping but I don't get cramp every night so I'm not sure yet. I do stretch the muscles before bed too
