I'm having a bad day today.. not often I confine myself to bed. After a very stressful week at work.. ended up with migraine attack which I know many suffer from
Luckily with medication it's under control . Part of my Et .. just get on with it. Just so painful
I am lucky compared to some I'm only on aspirin at present . My platelets are very high 1124.. so I'm ultra cautious. Wouldn't care went to Pilates after work and felt so relaxed.
So I will sort out the stress at woŕk..simply by not doing it anymore. Only have one life and that's my decision made. Amazing how much better you feel when you make a positive choice.
Haven't planned the rest yet. I am lucky when I read what others go through. Just having ET sciatica and hip trouble.. wears you down
Thanks for listening. This web site is a life saver.

Hello Heather, I am sorry to hear that you are having a bad day, but at least you have made a big decision and feel better for it, good for you. Take care of yourself. Maz x
I have to say stress definitely increases platelets. I had extreme stress 2 weeks prior to my hematologist's visit and my platelets rose 80 points. He was concerned and told me I wasn't far from being put on chemo pills so then is when I realized the connection between stress and platelets. I told this to my bf and when I experience stress he gently reminds me about it's not worth it. I too am only on aspirin therapy. I joined a gym in order to destress, it has helped in many ways. Haven't gone to dr yet but I've lost 15 pounds and hopefully this brought my platelets down. I also went to my primary doctor and told him about my stress. He prescribed a mild dose of lorazapam of 5mg should I feel that stress coming on. I also read that turmeric, ginger, garlic and oyster mushrooms, although not "proven", help in reducting platelets. I am taking turmeric for its other benefits - natural pain reliever
So sorry to hear you've had such a rotten day. Migraines are awful. I retired in July and it's the best decision I've ever made! Once I had made it, a great weight was lifted off my shoulders and my mind. You won't regret it, I have learned that money isn't everything!
I suffer from body wide osteoarthritis so fully understand pain. You need to pamper yourself and look after yourself a lot! Sending you a massive load of E hugs and hope you feel better.
So sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I can totally echo what the other lovely ladies have said . After leaving work ( a difficult decision as it was a career from a job in cardiac nursing that I loved) I found that I had much more time and energy to enjoy the stuff that is positive in my life . If I feel tired I don't have to drag myself out but can have an "easy" day . I am sure as Aimee says once you have made tge decision you won't regret it - you can also fit in the gentle daily exercise ( in my case - walking Yogi my lovely little dog) that is so imporfant for us .
Having a bad day. Hi Heather. Sent a reply to your post but am not sure it went through. Would you mind letting me know if you received it. Please. Mary
