Just had eyes checked and told I had 2 pinpoint retinal haemorrages. Not surprised as plats 80 and thought could easily be caused by sneezing etc. Anyone else ever been told this and if so was any action needed?

Hi Skodaguy, about 18 months ago I had the start of a detached retina. I was noticing flashes and floaters which after I reported them it was acted on very very quickly by lazer treatment. Up till now all is well and I`ve had no problems. The doctors seem to think this was age related, but it was a bit scary. Regards Sue

Yes, I have had a retinal bleed. My platelets are around 60-70. I had referral to an ophthalmologist who could identify the spot on my retina. Things have returned almost to normal except slight distortion of straight lines. No treatment required. Good luck with yours.

I have detachment of the vitreous part of the retina and have been checked by several opthamologists and all said there was nothing to be done - and to live with the floaters and greyed spots.
