V section
maybe nothing to do with the venesection?? perhaps u have picked up a bug?
I have had this before sometimes you feel light headed and dizzy as well. Id go back to the doctor and find out. Last time i had vsection my blood pressure was really low. Hood luck xxxx
Are you having plenty of water? Keeping well hydrated and not hurrying helps me also having a healthy meal
As other comment it may not be related to venesection. Take care.
Hi Teish77, sorry to hear this, you should ring your haematology nurse and let them know this is how you are feeling following your venesection, they can then advise you. Maz
I have a good drink of water before I go for a v section and then spoil myself with a toasted teacake and a bottle of normal coke in the hospital cafe after. I do on occasions feel a bit light headed and usually have to sleep for a few hours when I get home.
Normally OK for a day or so and then feel tired the after about 3 days for a week and then get better as time goes on. Back to normal and feeling better than I did before the v section.
Just as well to check it out to be sure as we are all different,
That you were allowed to get up and walk away after venesection was appalling Teish.I wonder about it all ,I am P V for six years, when first diagnosed I had the venesections in hospital, then afterwards went in weekly until my H C T was an acceptable level.I was never left alone, nurse with me throughout the procedure, not allowed up before drinking and then eating a very citrusy bar with sugar on,10 mins laid, then carefull y helped off the comfortable couch like bed, assisted to a pleasant room, checked by Dr,then tea or coffee,cakes,biscuits.....hubby with me,also offered tea etc,but not allowed to drive me home until they were sure I was not dizzy, advised to rest on arriving home and doing absolutely nothing .This is French Health Care. They then put me on Hydrea....I am told that venesection is not their way of treatment once a patient is level with bloods.I hope you feel better now, certainly you must say how you felt.N H S puts us off coming home,I sincerely hope too ,you have better treatment in future..Very Best to you .
Thankyou for replying, ive been having them now for 2 years, they always check my blood pressure before and after to make sure i can go wen i feel ok, ive never had a problem with any of them before, i felt fine wen i lefted the hospital it was only hours later that i started to feel unwell.
I've felt like this once before. My BP was checked and it was fine just after venesection. I went home and progressively felt very poorly as the day went on. It continued throughout the next day so I went to see my GP. She took my BP and it was dangerously low.
I was at the time taking medication for high BP, my GP took me off them and was advised to keep myself hydrated and rest... which I did. I started to feel better the next day and two days later my BP was normal.
There seems to be a direct correlation between my HCT level and BP where I'm concerned. It raises when my HCT is up and goes down after venesection. I have my own BP machine now, so I can keep a check on it at home. My GP calibrated it, so I know it's spot on.
If you're still feeling poorly I would definitely go to see your GP or haematology nurse.
Difficult isn't it,we feel fuzzy head and dizzy often,I do any way, never really know if it is the maladie, the Meds, over tired,or just getting older ,Hope you are soon sorted Teish, best wishes to you too Kari, think you are right about BP going up whenH C T is high, seems to happen to me,,so much we do not know!
