I love watching the the original DA series just great well made but budget British TV in my view. Ive not seen the recent remake but considering the dvd. Any opinion ?

Not seen it and haven't met anyone who has! Might see if I can get it on Virgin Movies to see if I recognise any of the areas that were filmed in Yorkshire.

I don't know where it's from, a friend sent it me. I love it. One of my sons recently had to work in Germany for a while, as soon as his friends knew about it they all sent the same message - don't tell them your name Pike - no our name isn't Pike!! 😄😄

I just love this forum! The positivity oozes from it! It has, to my mind, just the right balance of the serious and the lighthearted! Maybe you have to be a "certain age" to know the original Dads Army. I confess I remember it well and not sure I even want to see a remake as the original cast were all so good
