Hydroxycarbamide

I've been taking 1500mg for a few years now, I take three capsules along with an aspirin all at the same time. Does anyone else do this or do you spread it throughout the day, ie 1 tablet 3 times a day. Reason I ask is maybe this would help my nausea feeling if I spread them out. I have ET am make and 44.x

Hi. I have PV and I take all mine together before I go to bed. I take 1000mg Mon to Fri then an extra one Sat and Sun. I have never had the sickness feeling on them. I am 45. I just hope that by the time they kick in I'm asleep and maybe why I don't get the sickness feeling x

Hi, I take 500mg 4 days and 1000mg 3 days. I take them just before I go to bed at night and I don't have the nausea.

I take 2 x 500 mg monday to friday and 3 x 500 mg saturday and sunday, I take them all at once in the evening, and the aspirin in the morning - on recommendation of the haematologist. As I take them in the evening I use them as an excuse for a couple or 3 biscuits for my supper! Sometimes I take them after my evening meal. Taking them in the evening lessens the fatigue (theoretically anyway)

I take 2 and 1 alternate days, aspirin each day in a morning with food, on my day of 2 I have one morning and night as I dont tolerate them too well but on the 1 x day I take at night before bed and no side effects.

Hi Stevenjust, sorry to hear that you are getting nausea, this is actually one of the less common side effects affecting approximately one person in 100 to one person in 1000, it might be a good idea to talk to your haematologist about this as he/she might be able to give you something to help with the nausea, or even discuss if you should try something other than Hydroxycarbamide.
