Has anyone any tips for my husband who produces no saliva due to drugs and infections, which makes it difficult to eat. Thanks.

Does he have Sjogren's? There are lots of very gentle mouth washes and pastilles for people with dry mouth syndrome. There is also a drug which can help you produce saliva. Sorry I'm not much help but this link is quite good.

Thank you for that. His dry mouth is the after effects of a stem cell transplant and the subsequent drugs he has to take. Will ask GP again.
Try lemon water. Lemon juice in your water should get those salivary glands salivating. He could also try just sucking on a lemon or a lime. Let me know as I'm just saying.
We use lemon juice in some radiographic procedures to get the salivary glands to open.
I had some sample packs of sugar free lozenges designed for chemo dry mouth from one of the drugs reps at Primary Care, sponsored by Sterling Health, some years ago. Sorry I don't remember the name. They helped with the mouth ulcers too. They were like gum drops, are those still made?
Pineapple normally stimulates saliva. We used it when we did some research where samples of saliva were needed.l
Had same problem and subsequently told by two dentists that there is a substitute saliva which the doctor can prescribe....important, as may otherwise risk abscesses in mouth. Best wishes. Tinkerbell13
Hi Ednama just wanted to say I feel for your hubby and I hope you find a solution to this nasty problem. . I also admire how very supportive you are. . Chris
Thank you Chris. Hope all is going well for you, it does get better, but the mucousitus is a nightmare as well as all the other problems. I don't know if you saw my posting but my husband had the same view as you last April having his SCT at the MRI. ALL THE BEST.
Hi Ednama, I use Biotene Moisturising Mouth Spray for dry mouth relief and find it most helpful. I am in Australia but would imagine you can get it in UK too. All the best, Sandra
