ID Med Alerts?
Hi x you can buy on the net or my surgery has the leaflets in there ask at your doctor's
I was given cards at the London meeting to say about MF and also my Macmillan nurse gave me a card. I always carry them in my wallet, but a bracelet sounds a good idea
Hi Thank you both 😀
I just posted the same question on a different board 2 days ago. The overwhelming response (like 30+ people) was yes. I ordered one. In my case, I'm young and presented with a stroke...the emergency unit at hospital did not take me seriously at first b/c I was such an atypical presentation. So I'd say- better safe than sorry.
Hi everyone.
Have a look at laurenshope.com
Much much prettier bracelets and more contemporary ones too, than anything here in the uk.
They're US based but mine arrived in good time, and I've ordered two more - the discs and bracelets are interchangeable, so much niced those horrible stainless steel and red things....
Hope that helps.
Louise

just looked on this site , i agree there are some lovely ones ! i have ordered one from a different company , but am very tempted to buy one off laurenshope for going out and special occasions ! lovely thanks Louise best wishes Holly x
Try medicalert and the id band company - lots of choice (I don't work for them!)
Hi, yes I have a card and I was given by my haematology nurse. Wishing you well.
I just googled it and went for the classic yucky stainless steel one. 30+ years ago I was an EMT and I know that the classic design would catch my attention a lot faster than a medic alert that looked like regular jewelry. If I go down, I don't want them to miss it - so I went with the ugly kind.
Haha i never thought of it that way although ones with dangly tag on have the medic logo
I have had a Medic Alert bracelet and laminated purse/wallet card for years. The organisation keeps a complete record of all your personal details, medical conditions, medications, hospital number, GP details and family/friends to contact. Every year they send a copy of these facts for you to check but you can make alterations at any time. The cost is £27.50 a year. You buy your bracelet or necklace from a wide range in their catalogue and then you decide (with help if necessary) what needs to be engraved on it. It carries your membership number and their 24 hour number to get access (from anywhere in the world) for information which is not already recorded on the bracelet/medallion due to lack of space. You can talk through your medical conditions with a nurse before deciding what goes in your records and on the bracelet/medallion and the card. The number for setting up your membership is 0800 581 420 Email: info@medicalert.org.uk or google for their website at Medic Alert but make sure you go to the English one not the American one! I have been very grateful for having the backing and security of this organisation for the past 7 years and needed it on 2 unexpected admissions to hospital.
Thank you for this have got in touch ! 😀
I was given a card to carry by my head of team nurse ,at the cancer unit at addenbrooks hospital ..all of my details are on it ..plus telephone numbers and pagers to call..in case of accident or emergency ,,, twinkly ..xx
