Angela Thompson, MPN Clinical Nurse Specialist at Nottingham City Hospital and Michelle Laurie, a MPN patient, have got together to form a new MPN Group and plan to hold monthly meetings to enable people with MPNs, their partners/family members/friends to meet in an informal atmosphere to talk about their MPNs. Angela and Michelle plan to invite speakers to meetings to include haematologists and representatives from various organizations to give advice on health and wellbeing. The first meeting will take place on Wednesday 21st January 2015 from 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm and will continue on the 3rd Wednesday of every month in the Maggie’s Centre (in the kitchen) which is in the grounds of Nottingham City Hospital, City Hospital Campus, Gate 3, Hucknall Road, Nottingham, NG5 1PH. You will find Maggie’s via the first entrance from the ring road off Hucknall Road through the entrance on the left.
If you would like to attend the first meeting of the East Midlands MPN Group please email info@mpnvoice.org.uk and include the names of your guests.
Please note that this group is not being run by MPN Voice, however we have been invited to attend the first meeting to take along our information leaflets and we thank Angela and Michelle for this invitation.
Maggie’s Centres are located in various hospitals around the country, they provide free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends and places to meet other people.
