Sounds like trigeminal neuralgia. Had this many many moons ago and its the worst pain EVER. You can get medication for this. See your GP.. best wishes. Anne x

You are not a pain and we all have the right to moan from time to time. I hope you are feeling a little better and that the next dentist appointment is less stressful. Mel x

As I read you post I began to wonder if I had posted without remembering!! Yesterday I spent an hour be prepped for a crown. I too have ET but no pain in the face just sore. I hope your pain goes away soon. Apparently I may have to wait some time for the crown to be fitted as I am due to have a cataract operation next week and the dentist says I have to ask when I can have the second half of the procedure.

you are welcome, I know how draining it can be to be in pain, I cracked/broke (not sure) a rib (or 2) 3 weeks ago, when I came back from the Newcastle forum, I stupidly did it leaning quite hard on my car boot to close it, so have been in a bit of pain since then, but getting easier now, at least I can take a breath without having to hold my ribs, still it's a good excuse to eat even more chocolate than normal (which is loads!), I keep telling myself that I need it to make me feel better. Thank you Pam, that's so lovely of you, I would love to come to your coffee morning but I'm afraid it's too far for me to come, I live in Derbyshire, but if you let me know what day you are having it I will have a coffee and a slice of cake on the same day so I am kind of supporting you. Maz x x

Maz you might have torn an intercostal muscle.... Feels like a cracked rib but is actually the muscle. Takes about 4-6 weeks and hurst like hell to start with! It happens to me quite a lot, from doing relatively little. Take it easy and be gentle with yourself :-)

Hi Liz, thank you, don't think I would like this to happen again, I do feel sorry for you if you get pain like this a lot, bless you. The hospital seemed pretty certain that I have cracked a rib though, I had to go to the minor injuries unit while we were on holiday, yes, just my luck I did it the night before we went to Devon so even though we enjoyed the holiday I spent it in pain, however the cream teas helped!! I am definitely taking it easy, not lifting anything heavier than a family sized bar of chocolate! Thank you. Maz x x x
