Does anyone wake from nightmares with panic attacks alongside migraine and if so do you have any remedies? For the last couple of years along with increased migraine frequency I have bouts of waking, hot, panicky from vivid dreams during the night and beginnings of migraine. Also a lot of facial flushing! 64 yr old female, chronic migraine sufferer.

I get this too, I'm sorry to say I've never found a remedy. I'm a life long insomniac and sleep disturbance and chronic migraines have just been part of life. I'm not even sure which one courses the other or whether they flip around. All I can do is try and reduce stress and anxiety generally.

Hi. I get that too. I thought that because the start of a migraine is linked to a decrease of serotonin in the brain, the other aspects of low serotonin is feeling depressed, which, if you're asleep, could lead to nightmares and waking up with a panic attack. Just a guess.

Hi I'm also in my 60's and I wake with nightmares and panic attacks. I've been going through the menopause since I was 48 and still suffer from sweats and anxiety.I try to concentrate on my breathing to try and stop my heart racing, which can help.My heads pounds and my heart races, then the head pain starts. I was on anti depressants which helped, but I don't want to take them forever. Hope you find something to help.
