Hello, ive been taking sibelium 5mg for about 4 months, it has been going ok sk far, the only symptoms i experienced were drowsiness and increased appetite, but recently i got a really bad stomach flu and had to take antibiotics, although my pharmacist and drs told me there is no interactions, i felt an increase in my ocd triggers and behaviors today, not sure if its in my head or its actually due to the medication because i found out that it metabolizes less when you use antibiotic and it pools in your system in large concentrations
If anyone has experience similar, or anyone who stopped sibelium, can i stop suddenly, or do i have to ween mysekf off it, because i already started taking a lower dose and i want to get it out of my system quick.

Sounds like you've done the research & just want to be sure.
And that's okay...
Your pharmacist can be helpful. Tell him what you've told us and likely he'll be willing to explain. Doctors are pretty busy but since he/she prescribed Sibelium call to get the answer you need.
As you probably know, the medication will only work to prevent migraines for as long as you continue to take it. It's a pretty low dose, so I think it will be out of your system soon.
I have taken it in the past and stopped taking it but I didn’t wean off it. Maybe ask your doc. I stopped because it didn’t work for me anymore but I had no side effects at all apart from a great nights sleep and a couple of extra pounds.
I wish it worked for me as it was an easy drug to take.
I only had a hemiplegic migraine a week after taking it but so far no migraines, but i never had frequent ones to begin with, they were just severe but infrequent, so im not sure if its working for me, but thank you for your input, on the leaflet it said to take half the dose for a few days, then on alternating days then stop, im probably going to reduce the dose gradually throughout the week then stop to be safe
This medicine is unlicensed in the UK for treating migraine, so I never had a chance to try it. I have however received feedback from others who have taken it. It is one of those many preventatives and like all of them, it also has side effects. If it is helping controlling migraine I won't stop it just because you think it is causing OCD. Is it seriously giving you problems? Whichever preventatives (drugs) you try, they all are bad in some ways. If it is really bad (side effects), you can ask for Duloxetin (Cymbalta) from your doctor, it works well but again, has some undesirable side effects.
The main symptoms i struggled with were the excessive appetite, it got to a point where i no longer feel full, in addition to the drowsiness, but because of the drug interaction, i felt that its mental effects are a but stronger, but im not sure if that is my anxiety talking or it is actually due to the medication, but im reducing my dose for a few days until i stop it later this week.
