New daily persistent headache

Is there anyone out there with this?? If so is there anything that helps?? Or any trials upcoming?

I’m at a loss, I’m on various other meds for many health quirks, I feel like I either get to live with a lil less pain and a massive continuous headache which peaks migraine or I get to try medications for headache, while the rest of my body cripples with pain. Just feel a lil in over my head at the moment (pun the phrase!!)

I was diagnosed with ndph 12 years ago aswell as chronic refractory migraine and chronic trapezius myalgia.

I know some who have gotten better with the medicinal route but it hasn’t worked for me, I had lost hope until I discovered what tension myosotis syndrome was and then the works of people like dr john sarno , Howard shubiner, Steve ozniach, Dan buglio,

Start by joining a page for journal speak with Nicole Sachs or pain free you by Dan buglio and you’ll start a new journey.

Hi Scott how long since you discovered schubiner and 12 years on are u still in pain?

So I discovered shubiner about 3 years ago and begun doing the work, from unlearn your pain.

I got better and got a job for the first time since I’d gotten sick, my pain was still there but less.

Now though I am under a lot of stress and it’s back really bad.

But I intend to re start the work and fully commit to it.

Sorry to hear this! You're ot taking too much meds are you? I had this once, a continuous headache for a whole month as I kept taking tablets to kill it off but it was a vicious cycle and the headache kept coming back.

Yes, u could be having rebound headaches if u are taking too many meds to often. Try to stay hydrated and eat live foods and try to avoid sugar as much as possible. Good luck and God bless. I also think the changing weather affects us as headache sufferers

Exactly. Rebound migraine is why we are limited to 9 Imitrex pills per month. I need 31, but it would make things worse long term.

Rebound headaches are real! This may be what is happening to you. Caused from taking prescribed and over the counter pain meds. I am going through this right now…waking up with headaches. I had weaned off of Topamax and headaches started again, that’s when I started taking meds for pain. I wish you all the best!

My issue is - I have fibromyalgia

joint hypermobility syndrome

Chronic fatigue and pain

hip bursitis

Scheuermanns disease of the spine

postural Ortastatic tachycardia syndrome

Along with that I have 2 subluxating/dislocating shoulders, IBS, restless leg, cramps, spasms etc

So I’m on a whole host of meds to deal with the chronic pain I’m in, I feel like it’s a 50/50 on what I can make better

Hi Candy,

See a neuro Dr. and get on some preventatives as well as an abortive like Imitrex. I take Atenalol, Diamox, Acetazolamide, and Tramadol daily to prevent migraines or lower the pain down to a 4 out of 10. Then when pain is 10 out of 10 I take an Imitrex.

Preventatives are the way to go. There are so many to try. A Neuro will find the right combo for you.

Best wishes.

Hi Sophie in 11 If you're taking Tramadol every day it will be causing your migraines/ headaches to be daily . It is an opiate and people with migraine are advised to avoid them altogether . This is because opiates are the major cause of medication overuse headache . Your neurologist should know this

Hi purge63,

I had daily migraines for 25 years before I started Tramadol. I don't take Tramadol for migraine it's for something else. I also have cancer, kidney disease, and an autoimmune disease and OTC pain meds won't work. I couldn't survive a day without a strong pain med like Tramadol.

I now face the option of going off all migraine meds to help my kidney disease. My kidney Dr. said last week I have to have a daily migraine or go on dialysis those are my only options. I think I'd rather stay on my migraine meds. Anyone who hasn't had a migraine would think that's a simple choice but it's not as you know.

My migraines are 50% better with my current med regime. I can't imagine going back to the days before Imitrex was invented or preventatives were started. That's no life. Dying of kidney failure shouldn't have to be my only other option.

hi Candy if ur taking both acetazolamide& diamox that’s too much because acetazolamide is the same medication as diamox. You may be double dosing.
