I'm 49 and been having migraines and cluster headaches for over 25 years. Lately, I feel a bit 'damaged' after each attack. I feel really battered, especially after the most recent one. It's as if I'm getting weaker. Hard to describe. I used to bounce back really quickly but nowadays I feel almost in shock in between attacks. Does anyone else have this?

I’m 59, and while my migraines are less severe than when I was younger, I get them more frequently. It also takes me longer to bounce back after I’ve had one. I feel as though they linger - I feel wrung out and tired, with brain fog after an attack. I hate it because I feel lethargic and lacking energy. I think it’s like everything else as you age - it just takes longer to heal, longer to recover when you don’t sleep well, your digestive system is more easily upset, etc. I have found if I stick to a regular sleep schedule, drink lots of water, and avoid certain foods I definitely feel less severely affected by migraines in general. Magnesium has helped immensely, as has cutting out gluton.
