Has anyone experienced constant eye pain that has caused one of your eyes appear further back than the other?

I have gone to the eye dr (ophthalmologist, Nuero-ophthalmologist, & retina specialist) numerous times due to eye pain, floaters, flashing lights, & light sensitivity. Every time, the doctors tell me that my eyes are normal, but I have visual disturbance daily (even without a migraine) & lately it’s been freaking me out because the eye that experience the most pain looks sunken further into my eye socket than the other. Is this normal?

I’m only 25, I don’t have any known health issues & im afraid these doctors are overlooking an issue that can cause me to go blind & is blaming it on migraines.

Any tips on how to stop eye pain & lessen disturbances will be helpful. Thanks

Do you think they are Aura? Before the migraine.

Then are you going to the doctor to stop the migraine? In addition taking preventive medications? I have had amazing success with high doses.of magnesium glycinate ( untried citrate and it didn't help). Intake it 3x daily 240mg.. This takes about 2-3 months to work. I also take Feverfew 1x daily. With the magnesium you can go as high as 1500. I know this seems high but it has been life changing.

I went from daily migraines to less than weekly. I also take Imitrix in pull form and injections ( before going to the emergency room.

When things were very bad I would go to the doctor for deloted injections.

I hear there is great success with Botox injections.

Do you have neck and back pain? Most of us do.

Please start to listen to the " Heads Up" podcast. It is by doctors who specialize in migraines. There are so many episodes to listen to.

Good luck

The migraines isn’t the issues anymore. I hardly have them, they have drastically decreased in frequency out of nowhere. The issue I’m struggling with is my vision. The eye doctors keep referring back to migraines as being the cause for my visual disturbances but I’m doubting it, due to the fact that I rarely get migraines anymore. Which is why I made this post; to see if it’s common or considered normal amongst others as well.

I am ancient compared with you but have had migraine all my life however apparently it is quite normal according to the medics for it to progress in time to just having the aura and no pain. This has happened to me over the years and i still get the aura and also now I do have eye pain and various interferences like you. I just put up with it and am grateful that there is little or no pain.

So are you saying u oi inhave permente vision loss? There is a visual impairment called " cortical vision impairment". It that what you are saying? Where can't you see? Center of vision path, outside on the sides?

There are vision screenings that be done by not looking in your eyes, but your brain. I wonder if that would tell you.

Any Neuro-opthomoglgist could do these types of tests.

No I don’t have vision loss. Just disturbances such as floaters, light sensitivity, wavy/zigzag lines.

It sounds to me like you have "silent migraine" which is causing visual disturbances. No headache, just wired vision. If you've seen all the above specialists and they all agree, I think maybe you have to accept they may be right. I assume you've had a regular eye test with an optician as well? The only other possiblity I can think of is visual disturbances caused by some form of floaters, I had a web type floater years ago which was like looking through a moving net curtain. Unfortunately though, migraine is so much more than "just" headache. Hope you get some reassurance soon x
