I started getting my migraines agin last October out if the blue. I used to get them when I was a teenager. I suffer with the visual disturbance, loss vision, flashing lights. I don't get much of a headache. I somtimes have a pressure feeling behind my eyes & im sensitive yo light. I seem to be getting them more frequently, which makes me very anxious. I was on beta blockers but I came off them to see his I was without them, as I don't like taking medication. However I'm beginning to think I may need them I'm 56 & it maybe menopause. I work in a warehouse cleaning toilets etc. I don't know if this has something yo do with the migraines. I lost my dad last year and thus could be a trigger.

It's just hard to know what to do fir the best ax the migraines are starting to interfere with my life. Anyone have any tips? Thank you

.

Hi

Sorry to hear you've felt so rough. My hubby is waiting to see a consultant on June 18th, he's got a spray and codeine which have helped. They think it's neuralgia it cluster headaches. I hope you improve very soon. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

I would think the cleaning materials you use could be triggering migraines. Also menopause is meant to be very linked. I think coming off your preventatives maybe not the best idea. If you are getting them often maybe consider going back on the beta blockers. Stress also makes it worse. Find ways to relax and look after yourself if you can.

So sorry it’s horrible, I just try not to panic about them now mine started at 59 years old never had before, more frequent now but very unpredictable, hate visual part and flashing displays, but more i can just except and relax better for me , lost my confidence for a while in going out just in case came on , but really is best to just try and do what you usually do as doesn’t seem to be a reason as to when and what you’ve done, stress and emotional upset probably can contribute as we are more tensed up then do hope this helps your not alone take care 😊

Mine became regular with menopause and I am taking low dose beta blocker with great success.

I had exactly the same experience, migraines through teenage years and then none until I went into menopause around 51. I'm 64 now and have had several clumps of migraines with visual disturbance but not usually very bad headaches. Even though I know what it is I still find them distressing and debilitating. I believe they must be hormonal but can't confirm that.

I read on this website that taking one low dose aspirin a day is good and have been doing that since January ( so far so good) .

Hope this helps to reassure you are not alone.
