I hope you see a good specialist who gives you some hope and treatment. It's so tough living with this awful illness and I too am grateful for this forum because it means we feel less alone with it. All the best! Let us know how you get on.

Good luck with your appointment! There are many options that will at least lesson your pain. Migraines tend to morph into different patterns over time so hopefully you eill get a better patch soon.

I feel your pain and have been there. Try a new approach via a private Facebook group by a migraine suffering PhD bio scientist helping thousands of migraineurs through diet, salt and without drugs:

Stanton Protocol for Migraine Sufferers Who Want to Be Cured. Angela Stanton has also written a book, The Migraine Epidemic. I think you will find relief if you wish to try. I’ve had migraine since age five and am having rebound to triptans, and have been through every single migraine drug ever invented— this is helping me.

Blessings.

Oh blueyu how difficult for you. Migraine can really get you down when it goes on and on. Hoping the specialist can help you and find the right treatment for you. In the meantime while you are waiting for your appointment please be gentle with yourself, don't push yourself to do things but make sure you get enough rest, keep your fluids up - boiled water is old fashioned but soothing and so is sucking a mint and try to find some activity which is pleasurable and not screen or word based - listen to podcasts, sit outside and watch the birds and let your body know that you are doing the best you can to take care of it. Good luck.

Hang in there, Blueuy! I agree with the above statement that migraine really does morph and changes all of the time during an attack and so hang on in until the better moments arrive. Also, you WILL find help through the migraine specialist- they saved my life from having migraines every 3 days to not having one from 10 weeks at a time. For me, it was life changing. I had tried everything, including the Stanton migraine protocol (which I, personally, found to be quite body and soul destroying- I lost so much weight- but for others, I know that it helps. Also, I don't like how they seem to blame people for not doing enough to help themselves. This is only my pet peeve as I know that they're trying to help). Preventive meds have turned things around enormously for me. Everyone who suffers from migraine knows how much this condition can rob us of our hope that things will change, that life can get better. But they can change and do change and we simply have to believe that there will be something out there for us. I wish you every bit of luck as you find the help that is out there for you. You're not alone. Hang in! Clydelle x

I have had migranes sice 12. Worse now. I can tell you botox injections work great. If you have insurance. They pay for it. I was having 3 to 4 migranes a week. Took botox 2 or 3 migranes in 3 months. So it works.

Aww blueuy i really hope you get the treatment you need.I totally feel your pain.I am in the same situation,i have changed GP's twice and all they seem to be doing is trying me on different migraine medication and changing my anti depressants, giving me different pain relief which none seems to be working.I have migraines daily,my meds are knocking me out,im so depressed with it all,ive just had enough.I live in my pj's,im not getting out the house because i always feel sick and dizzy, its horrendous living like this.Today is the first time ive been able to sit online for a while.Ive asked my current GP for a hospital/migraine clinic referral and she keeps saying, well we will try this,or up these meds,im fed up with it all xx
