Long term vision loss

Hi, I had an ocular migraine a couple of years ago which resulted in loss of vision in the corner of one eye. I’m awaiting an appointment with a specialist but I was wondering whether anyone is aware if the damage can be reversed? Thanks

Thanks for posting, I would wait to see what the Specialiat says. I wonder if they are going to do more tests to confirm this diagnosis. There other things that can cause field loss. Is it in just one eye? Also what field is it in? Upper, lower?

Hi.

I have regular ocular migraines, sometimes lasting for 10 days at a time non-stop, it's a nightmare. They got worse when I had cataracts removed from both eyes several years ago, but the only eye affected is my right one. My opthamologist said the vision loss and dizziness, which I always get as well, are "normal" with ocular migraines. Unfortunately, I can't take anything to help with my migraines as I'm on blood thinners and they would interact with medication such as triptans, so basically it's "shut up and put up" as far as my neurologist's advice goes. I've tried many preventative medications over the years, but not many worked and the ones that did were only short lived relief.

Have you had your appointment with your opthamologist yet? I'd be interested to hear what his/her opinions and advice are on it.
