I wonder if anyone has tried botox for migraine and if it has been helpful? I have a diagnosis of exertional migraine after a headinjury for 14 years. I wonder if there have been side effects that have not gone away for the 12 weeks that the botox is intended to last.

Hi Amber, my husband has had daily headaches for about five years, has been prescribed all the meds you can think of Topamax, Epilim none of which had any effect at all. The final treatment was six courses of Botox which did nothing for him; but he didn't have any side effects. He was discharged by the consultant who advised that "he would have to find a way to cope with the pain." So he's left to cope alone with this debilitating condition and I spend all my time combing the Internet looking for the miracle!
I have heard of others having good results with Botox. Best of luck, I hope it works for you.
Yes I had Botox for the first time about a month ago and I believe it has helped. It was super easy, could hardly feel it and took about 4 minutes! Totally worth trying. My neuro said a 50% reduction is considered successful. I am totally going to continue. I was so afraid, for nothing. Everyone is different. Give it a try
I had four rounds of treatment and found it very helpful. I suffer from chronic migraine and the botox was a game-changer. It reduced the number of attacks but also the severity.
