Like many of you, I take a variety of meds for migraine. And have been for about 40 years. More so as time goes on and migraines have become more frequent. I am aware meds are hard on the kidneys. Has anyone had any kind of kidney problems as a result?

Migraines
Good to know. Good for you too. Thanks.
Hi Dove,
I've had migraines for 38 years and I've taken codeine, triptans, fiorinal, topamax, and the list goes on. I don't worry about my kidneys as much as I worry about my liver. I have my liver enzymes checked yearly - so far, it's fine. I also have a yearly EKG. My doctor tells me that I don't take enough meds to worry about this but I do.
Thank you. Very helpful and interesting. My doctor doesn’t check anything. Glad you are doing fine in this area.
I think there is nothing we can do even if we know painkillers can cause liver and/or kidney damage. Once you are in migraine pain, there is no alternative. If anyone is worried about their liver and perhaps having pain on the right upper abdomen, there is an excellent homeopathic medicine (for liver) for it. I know homeopathic medicines mostly unreliable and often don't work but this one is almost guaranteed to mend liver. It is called 'Carduus Marianus', should be taken as 'mother tincture ø' : 5 drops twice, morning (empty stomach) and evening (no food 30 min before or after).
I had worrying liver test (blood test) results, I took this medicine for 2 months and then did the liver test again - this time results were normal ! The dose can be 10 drops twice depending how bad the condition is.

I agree about there being little choice. When in migraine pain we want relief. The risk of liver/kidney damage outweighs suffering with migraines. Thanks troy04 for the homeopathic info. Glad it is helping.
