NDP headache - Botox

After 10 months of pillar to post for a 24x7 headache over this 10 months my 18 year old son was diagnosed as having New Daily Persistent Headache of the chronic migraine type. Other than the usual lifestyle advice and suggested use of painkillers and preventative drugs the consultant recommended a course of Botox. Has anyone had Botox to treat NDP headache or indeed migraines? And if so what has been the outcome/experience? Also are there any issues we should be wary of? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have been receiving Botox for 2.5 years now every three months I go back to my neurologist and get a top up. I saw a difference after the first round but can honestly say for me it just kept last longer and being more effective with every session. I was chronic migrainer with constant headaches in between and now only have - handful of migraines each month. I couldn’t recommend Botox enough! Hopefully this helps your son too :)
