Hi angelina, I'm sorry your so down, I know how bad the pain & tiredness can be. I'm just curious, do you have any neck or back problems? I ask coz I have a curved spine at the top & my dr has said it aggravates my condition as the nerves are pinched. Also something to try is menopause herbal medication coz it has high soya in it or flax seeds. I'm one of those people that will try the GP route but also the alternatives too. I've finally found my trigger which is bananas, I used to eat one every day, thinking it's healthy, but sadly not for me!

I hope my advice helps & that you don't have to wait too long for the neurologist appt.

Same, I have had them for 13 years and getting them weekly, fortnightly if I'm lucky (if you can count that as lucky).

I know it is said time again, but do you follow a good routine everyday?

I'm wondering if that is the cause.

For me particularly, I always get them on a Monday and/or Tuesday in the afternoon. My consultant said my routine is so different at the weekend and my head does not like change. I eat and drink rarely, as I am on the go at the weekend so I do not eat often like I do in the week for work. I probably have more sugary foods and do not go to bed until later and get up later. That means there could be a 12 hours over night when I have not had food and its too long to go without, so I not have a midnight snack before bed Fri/Sat night. It has to be fats and protein, not sugary snacks.

Also, the consultant said that it take 24 hours for a migraine to build up, so because if a different routine and getting up late on a Sunday, my migraine may start around Sunday midday and gently develop until it comes out on a Monday afternoon when I get one.

Sorry if this is a long and boring answer!, but routine is something to implement to get better results. This help you in your case.

I never realised that a migraine can take 24 hours to develop, a good thing for me to remember and what I may have eaten to trigger it.

It's amazing that in the 30 years I've had migraines I've never been referred to a consultant! My dr has just changed my meds & ive got on with it.

When I mentioned to my dr that I found my trigger to be bananas, she looked at me like I was mad. I'm glad to know from this forum that I'm not

I had a referral through work to assess my sick especially my migraines , and they stated, "oh it's just a slight headache" obviously a lot of medical professionals don't suffer the curse of migraines.
