Had more botox last week for my migraines & chronic pain. It has revolutionised my life & I am very grateful to the NHS.

But if one more person says to me "I wish I could have some free botox too for my wrinkles" I may not be responsible for my actions.

I've taken to replying, "well I wish I DIDN'T have to have it." And then I point to my furrowed brow & walk away.

Hello

I agree I am on round three of botox and people do not seem to see this as a treatment for chronic migraine that rules my daily life.

Botox has many uses in medicine but sadly for us its reputation as a cosmetic fix grabs the headlines.

Hope it is helping you.

That's amazing that you feel so good.  I've read quite a few negative comments about Botox and pain worsening after treatment.  I've been offered it fir chronic migraine.  However almost worse than the migraine is the constant neck pain I have.  It grinds and clicks, aching constantly, waking me after a few hours sleep but nobody will listen.  All medics say is it's migraine.  It's not.  Do you think Botox may help my neck too?

I don't know if it would help your neck or not. I've had it in my neck & shoulder too & sometimes it helps & sometimes it doesn't. It depends on why the pain is there.

I feel like I've had a migraine over the last few days but the headache has been in the background. I can only liken it to turning the sound down low on the TV.

I also take a low dose of atenolol.

Sorry not to be more helpful- long day at work!

Jackie, ive had botox twice it didnt help my head because the migraine come from the jaw but it definitely took the pain from my neck away almost immediately the night after i had a few small injections on my neck i could put my head down on my pillow without feeling like my head was always too heavy. If i get neck pain again i will definitely do it again.

Had 15 physio sessions and 10 chiropractor sessions that done nothing but make it worse.

I have slight athritis on the left side of my neck.

Make sure it's only small amounts though as you could have issues keeping your head up if they use too much.

X
