It's worth getting checked for Vitamin D deficiency.

I'm a bit loathe to post this in case it jinxes things, but I've been treated for vitamin D deficiency for 7 weeks now and have been headache free. The longest for about 5 years by a long way.

I'm a silly bugger because when my sister got diagnosed with vitamin d deficiency with similar joint pains to the ones I'd been getting I just bought the supplements and took them (I work in nutrition so know the correct amounts) and didn't bother my doctor with asking for a test as I just thought it was pretty unlikely.

So anyhow vitamin d deficiency is pretty common, easy to treat and there is some literature on links with migraines so it well worth getting checked out.

Yes, yes, yes!

And, vitamin D3 is better than D2. I live in Florida and still have to take 50,000 units a week. My daughter, in Boston, who does not get migraines, also has to take vitamin D, but not as high a dose. Also check your B12 and potassium at the same time, why not!

Thanks for posting this. I've taken D3 for a while and it definitely helped my immunity - before that I caught every infection around and had long recovery times. I think it helps the migraine a bit, but still have it weekly.

Do you take anything with the D3? Some people now are recommending a supplement that comes with Vitamin K but I'm not sure why or how this would help.
