Does anyone get skin pain when you have migraines?

When I wash my hand or have shower, the water stings my skin only when I have migraines. It seems to go away after a while but it is not very nice.

When my migraines goes it goes too.

Yes,same for me.I used to think it was from the medication but actually is from the migraine, must be all the nerve endings on alert.

I get generally sensitive skin when I have a migriane especially my scalp . There is a book called The Migraine Brain by Dr ? Which is very good at talking about all the strange symptons that come with migraine . I didn't know about runny nose either !

Hi, that stinging sounds unpleasant, to say the least. I was told by a consultant, that migraineurs are more sensitive than non-migraineurs to pain etc, in other parts of their body too. Sort of makes sense.

Monty123, I get that runny nose too! Never associated it with migraine before but that probably accounts for it. Don't know why I didn't make that connection before. However, it took me years to make the yawning connection, so maybe I'm not so quick on the uptake?!

Yes i get this but am sure its only when i have taken zomig - my body tingles in the shower like gentle pins and needles. Can also get a sore throat with it - or like a lump on swallowing.

Yes, I found this out when I went swimming! it was so painful ( I truly thought the pool had boiling water in it!). The next time I swam with migraine ( I had taken meds) the same thing happened, so now I do not go as it hurts too much

Hot drinks are also waaaaay to painful ( the best way for me to have my much needed tea is to use a straw to by- pass the majority of my mouth) and I am convinced the hairbrush has electrodes in it!

my nose often runs and my left eye (the painful one) waters during some (but not all) migraines. My top teeth often tingle during a bad attack like electricity running through them. My left arm and fingers feel tingly, and it's funny that you've mentioned this, but when my last attack started the other day I had this weird itch on my hand that was part of the aura.

I'm glad(?) that I'm not the only one! I have noticed this even before taking imigran so it must be because of migraine. I yawn a lot beforehand as well.

My skin has hurt before with migraine but is only sensitive to hot water when I have taken triptans. I have to get my husband to check water temp for my daughter as I have no idea what is hot or not as feels burning to me. I would only get this from tablets though.

I have only noticed it on my hands. I cook a lot so usually I can take very hot water on my hands but after a migraine hot water on my hands stings. It doesn't feel hot it hurts.
