The news has arrived that NICE has rejected Rimegepant and it won't be offered to migraine sufferers in the UK : migrainetrust.org/news/nice...

The Gepants are a revolutionary type of medications which are the most effective medication to date and don't cause medication overuse. People with heart issues can use them as well. Gepants can be used a preventive or acute medication. They have been widely used for a couple of years in the States and are a life saver for millions of migraineurs.

Please read the link above and if you can, send your comments to NICE in their public consultation.

Hi there. Yes I know, just seen it! Real progress! I'm just wondering now how I can get access to a NHS head specialist who will be willing to prescribe it to me. I can't afford it privately! Have a lovely evening!

Are you under a neurologist? I would hope they should be able to prescribe it if you fit the criteria?

I am not anymore, unfortunately. I used to go to some sort of headache clinic but after several medic, Botox and so on I gave up. I saw another NHS headache specialist through another way in a London hospital but despite me 'fitting the criteria' for anti-CGRP injectable he refused to prescribe anything else than Topiramate and Vit B. He basically didn't follow the NHS protocol and I guess it was all in the name of cost savings. I might need to review the situation with my GP. All the best to you!
