Gepants help please

Anyone know how to get / buy Gepants - Nurtec preferably. Not yet approved UK but been available in the USA since Feb 2020. Not gonna happen on the NHS or Private - years behind and you practically have to be dead

Hello there. I've actually done all the leg work myself after having contacted some migraine charities who couldn't help me about this. I've contacted the 3 big pharma companies who are selling different types of Gepants and contacted Nurtec as well, asking if they had some info to share as to when they will be available, or at least on trials in the UK. Nurtec actually never bothered responding. The 2 others (can't remember their names anymore), one said they had no info about this and the other one said that it was commercial knowledge not be shared with the public.

On some 'dodgy' website I have found some Nurtec which were priced at $400 for a packet (8 tablets in it). I believe it is the same price when you buy it privately in the US.

The only possibility I see for the future is maybe, and only maybe, Switzerland and Australia. Switzerland always seems to be quite forward in this sort of things. I've heard that Australia was contemplating starting the trials. But then again, that would end up you bearing 100% of the costs.

Thanks Chleo - I have been able to see that the file is in the works with Nurtec in the UK but not due till 2022. My next option would be to try and get an american friend to buy it for me - will let you know how i get on

Wow!! How did you manage that? A magic wand? I didn't think there was any info available to laypeople. I think that 2022 is quite some good news, although I expect it to only the start of the trials. I've got an American friend as well but I've never worried about asking because as far as I know, you have to buy it with a prescription and if you don't have one that would be the $400 I have heard about.

I used to work for GSK. As soon as someone files its visible to the competition. I used my network. That's how everyone prepares in the pharma world ! A friend in the states is trying and I'll let you know how we get on.
