Anxiety with Auto Injector

đź‘‹Hi , I have had migraines for about 15 years, I'm currently 31. I just began taking Emgality auto injector and have severe anxiety about any sort of needle. It has become a life saver but I can not get over the anxiety of the injection. It has effected my everyday life, my personality, my patience, my happiness. I also seem to have severe joint and muscle pains 2 or 3 days after using it. Anybody have any similar experience with anxiety and needles or this bizarre reaction to this miracle drug?

That is unfortunate that you experience anxiety from needles. Are the joint and muscles pain listed as side effects? Is Emgality actually helping reduce your migraines? My son suffers terribly, he started Aimovig after struggling for months for insurance to approve it. So far Aimovig is not helping.

They are not listed on the website as side effects but have read on other sources it has caused joint and muscle pain. For now I am continuing to use it because I have not had a migraine jn 3 months, which is a miracle for me. I would get a few every week interrupting everyday life. My other life save is Zomig Nasal Spray. I take 5mg, also in 2mg. That is an instant pain reliever as a migraine is already occurring. I used to be hospitalizes and also found it very difficult to keep a down. I hope your son finds a way to treat his migraines, I feel for people who have them.

I use Imitrix injections when I need them, maybe 4-6 x a year. But I have my husband do them in my backside just above my but.

Is there anyone that could help give you the injections where you can't see it?

I wonder if meditation would help?

Hope you can find a solution.

Take care

I could try behind my arm or my butt. Meditation is definitely on my list. Thank you so much for your advice, any little bit helps. Thank you!
