I have various chronic medical conditions with reactive Depression and Diabetes 2.

If you do sports as a diversion to your health concerns you are following the best pathway you could take. Try and remain positive and move yourself on.

Generally speaking my day keeps me active as I come on here also follow my hobbies.

I know generally I am lucky to be able to follow my interests throughout the day,

Keep busy.

Do you have any Mental Health Day Centres close where you live, mixing with like minded people can help you control your condition. Ask your Surgery if there are any groups associated with your Health conditions.

Also have a look on the NHS Choices web site you may find information there that will help you come to terms with your health problems

There are various charities you could also visit on the web that may also have various health groups in your area. We are also here to help when needed

Hi there,

Welcome to our community. As you begun to find folks here are very helpful and supportive. Here are links to more info about the link between diabetes and depression, and the UK NICE Guideline, but in fact encompass anyone with a long-term physical health problem, as often depression is reactive as coping with the chronic ill health can often be distressing and difficult to manage and come to terms with. The treatment and therapy options will be the same for all of us and often the lack of access to local mental health services makes getting effective and efficient treatment is difficult.
