Hello

If you were taking a low dose I suppose they have checked you are ok to take them, When was the dose increased ??.

Now it should take a further couple of weeks so the higher dose will take effect, If not working say three weeks see the GP I understand that the meds need to get into your system. I have taken Citalopram for a few years now

All the best

BOB

I started on a low dosage 2 months ago, i went to see the gp a week ago, as there is no improvement the GP asked me to increase the dosage to 30 mgs per day, Could i ask how much do you get, what time of the day you get it and do you have it with food? I am also getting Zopiclon, sleeping tablet 2 mgs, i have tried one or twice Diazepam 2mgs. I want to stay away from diazepam as it might interfere with my medication, thank you for your advice

I have been on citalopram about three years and started on 10mg a day then went up to 20mg a day now Im reducing it back to 10mg a day. It does work but just be patient. You have to give it a few weeks as Bob said. You also have to use other self help therapy alongside like CBT and exercise. Good luck. Keep us posted. David

Hi I have been taking citalipram 20mg for around 6 years and it does take a couple of weeks to work however I would suggest speaking with your doctor if you don't feel any improvements. I did go up to 40mg but it caused blurred vision and it slowed me down for example my speech ect so I went back to 20mg. Not in a good place at the moment so I may ask to be put back up. Hope you feel the benefits soon take care

I have been on citalapram a few times now, at the time I have felt like its not working, but then when I have come off them I realise that they have been working! So don't expect them to make you feel really happy, I think they seem to help by just taking the edge off, if that makes any sense? But if you feel you need a higher dose, then go for it. Hope things work out for you,
