If there's blood in one's urine, what should one do about it?
Don't panic too much, it could just be inflammations in one's urinary tract, not so serious, don't worry. In fact my cousin August went through it before and he said there was blood in his urine, fortunately he took some diuretic and anti-inflammatory pills and he's fine again. So don't worry too much, just a check in the hospital first and get the right medicine.
Blood in urine could be several things. Is it also present in the semen? You might have a kidney stone, or urethral irritation, bladder infection, UTI, or a prostate infection. I would check all fluids first, and report back here if it persists, but you should probably get a doc's input if you're worried. How much blood are we talking exactly?
Here in the uk the health service is running a campaign to get people to go to doctors if there is blood in urine even if it is just on one occasion as it can be a cancer symptom. They do have a habit of being over cautious but if you are middle aged or older a visit to the doctor is in order
See your doctor for a CT scan and a scope exam of your bladder. It can be very serious and life threatening. Most often it is not, but make sure.
