Getting Circumsised tomorrow

Hi everyone,

I have my operation tomorrow morning, obviously I’m nervous but at the same time I just want to get this over with as I have had phimosis my whole life.

Just wanted to be sure that I am expecting the correct things, if anything I say seems incorrect please correct me or just let me know how your experience was.

What I should expect:

Day of surgery, roughly 30 min procedure (I have been told I will be under general anaesthetic), probably in and out of the hospital in 1 hour to 1 hour 30 mins. Slight pain and sensitivity and most likely swollen but still a bit numb from the surgery. So walking isn’t too much of an issue after the surgery.

1-2 days after surgery, very painful erections (mostly at night) very sensitive, however wearing tight boxers with vassaline and gauze wrapped around the head with help.

2-4 days after surgery, bathing the penis in warm salt water in the bath will ease the pain and clean it. Once or twice a day?

5-7 days after surgery, everything seems to be on the mend, still pain from erections bit not as bad, moving around is fairly easy now with the use of tight boxers. Most likely able to go back to school and work etc.

8-10 days after surgery, area by furelium is still sore however the rest of the wound is healing well.

11-14 days after surgery, some of the stitches may dissolve / fall out.

15-17 days after surgery, stitches should be out for the most part, pain should be minimal, the penis will still look very sore but won’t hurt as much?

18-21 days after surgery, stitches should all be out, swelling should have gone down dramatically and the furellium will still be sore and healing however progress has been made?

21-30 days after surgery, pain will be not as noticeable, head most likely desensitised a fair bit, living is more comfortable?

30-40 days after surgery, should be able to go back to having sex and masturbating?

60+ days after surgery, scaring shouldn’t be as noticeable, swelling will have gone down to a very minimal amount, life is more comfortable, feeling better in general?

Like I said before, I based this timeline off all of the Circumsision posts that I have read over the last few months, if anyone thinks that what I have to expect after tomorrow is inaccurate please can you correct me?

Sounds pretty spot on to me... if you can last 30 days without masturbating then I take my hat off to you. Day 18 was all I could get to 😂 the first few days after the anesthetic had worn off I had to pee in the shower. There was no way in hell i was going to try aim for a toilet.

That's pretty thorough and accurate. Couple of points to raise. Your Hospital stay will depend when you wake up from surgery and how you feel, then when you can get up and walk. I had to be able to pee before I could go. Have a few drinks then sit and wait. I never had night time erections. Always slept back to back with Mrs and she was under strict instruction to wear the most dull pyjamas. Whenever I felt a stirring, I usually woke and thought boring thoughts !

I just got home from the operation, all went well. Much better than I thought, I was very nervous but the staff calmed me down a lot. I’ve given my Mrs a load of baggy T-Shirts and locked away her lingerine for now lol it’s gonna be hard but it’s all worth it in the end 😂

I was circumcised a few weeks ago. Here are some tips i found with my recovery:

Wear tight pants, I know sounds weird right but it will stop the pants from moving and brushing against your penis which made me cringe alot.

To avoid night time erections pee before bed, don't be afraid of a little pain with erections it is just the stitches and pain will actually make the erections go away.

Try and wash the area everyday with light shower spray, no soap just warm water.

After day 3 try and walk around as much as possible to get used to the new feeling.

Finally enjoy your time off work or school I know I did!

Go with Harry's advice. It can be a long road but do not rush anything.

Quick questions whilst I’ve got you here, I’ve been told not to take of my bandage for 48 hours post op, so that will be Saturday morning. I every time I have urinated lots of the pee has gone on the bandage making it very wet and a bit uncomfortable. Do you think it’s woth me taking it out of the bandage early?

Mine fell off the morning after so I would say yes. After that I used melonin bandages, which are dressings with a shiny side which goes against the wound to stop it sticking. Vaseline also helped.

Sounds like you’ve done your research stitches may take longer though mine took 6/7 weeks to completely dissolve but everyone is different.
