Litchen Sclerosus

Think that's a conversation you should be having with your GP /consultant
Hi there, definitely a conversation to have with your GP or a Urologist.
I wanted to add one thing since you mentioned your mental health in a previous post…
Whilst there are no guarantees and this is a crappy condition, we as guys have a reasonable chance of making a recovery with circumcision or even steroid creams for some… so see your GP, get a urologist referral asap and follow their guidance on how to resolve, but in the meantime…
If you’re struggling mentally then don’t forget that others have been before you and ended up ok. There are no guarantees but there’s also no benefit to worrying.
Eat well, sleep well, exercise, do things you enjoy. Getting the basics right will help you to build resilience and feel better whilst you go through treatment
Good luck and all the best.
Thanks for replying to me, I understand I seem to have it under control at the moment. However I'd like to know if it has spread to the urethra then circumcision will not fix that problem. So I don't want to remove the forskin if it isn't going to be curative. I'm 29 I've had a forskin my whole life and to be without and the loss of alot of sensitive areas just to have this disease take more from me anyway. If its at the urethra then I'll be fighting this my whole life. But I understand, I've not ruled out circumcision just wondering if it could also stop it from progressing in the urethra. Thanks for your reply, wishing you health and happiness
I had mine cut 3 weeks ago for the same condition, although not affecting my urination.
Steroids got it under control, but it was suggested that the level of maintenance I’d need to keep up (drying and applying barrier cream after each wee, so no more urinals) plus liklihood of it coming back made it a fairly easy choice for me to have a circumcision. I didn’t want that all hanging over me
The first 10 days was very rough, but I’m not virtually fully healed (3 weeks to the day). Salt baths helped me hugely after week 2.
Happy to go into more details but everybody heals differently and each experience will differ.
You should seek opinions of the most qualified specialists you can find, I saw two Professors, one who specialised in LS and my surgeon deals solely with penis health/surgery. I don’t know if I can name them here but happy to if it’s useful and you’re in the UK
It’s not just about being dry as I understand it. With the foreskin you don’t have the protective skin layer (kerotone I think), but this develops once circumcised and it what protects against the drips of urine.
The skin on the head is wrinkly, there's a band around the shaft, the head and forskin is dry and grippy like a car tyer. I have no plan, online it says the Dr should monitor you for changes and if things are working but I've been left in the dark. I couldn't get steroid creams for a month because the pharmacy wouldn't sell me it. I'm on a steroid cream called Daktacort which is for athletes foot and fungal infections. I went to a urologist who just wants to get the money for collecting forskins, I've been left to do my own research and I've nobody to talk to outside of this site. All information seems to be with a grain of salt, I want to hear the people who have done it with steroid and the people who cured it with circumcision. Anything that can help me lazers ect.
