Uncomfortable erection after ejaculation

Anytime I get hard after I have ejaculated, it is uncomfortable. The only way I can describe the feeling is that it feels as if my penis is overfilled with blood. Does anyone else have this issue? Is this normal? Should i bring it up to my doctor?
