Short Frenulum

I am a 22 year old male and i believe i have a short frenulum. I can expose the head of my penis when flacid and erect. I have no pain when peeing or with erections. However, it isn't particularly natural for me to pull it back when masturbting etc. and the foreskin always rolls back so only around half of my glans are exposed when i do pull it back.

I am a virgin and worried this will impact my ability to have sex and more specifically wear a condom properly.

Any advice?

don’t worry about it . Anxiety and worry about these things takes focus of what is really important and that is building a relationship with someone . Focus on that .

Mine was same.I had a very short frenum. But its was torn when I masturbate. So now I don't have any frenum issues.

Hi i had the same and went to the hospital to get frenuloplasty. This is the surgical treatment for a short penile frenulum by dividing the skin across and re-suturing in a lengthwise fashion. The just do it with local anesthetic, and done in half an hour.

Hi if it's short it could affect things you should ask your doctor about it a frenuloplasty would short it out for you.

It should have little effect but be aware if you have sex without a condom, which you will have no issue putting on, the skin may pull back over the glans and feel extra tight.

Gently pull it back if it does not come up naturally. If you worried go see Doc' or medical professional. Good luck.

Hi Healthhelp12. Don't be scared about your short frenulum. If this is really the case (we would have to see photos to confirm it), tell yourself that it is an extremely common little condition in young men. This will not prevent you from having correct and pleasant sexual relations. I'm a 60-year-old man, and I experienced this when I was a teenager. Like you, I had a very short frenulum, which retained the foreskin and prevented the glans from being discovered normally and completely. Several possibilities are available to you: Either you let things work themselves out. Either you have the possibility of correcting the problem of the frenulum if it worries you too much. In the first case, when you have intercourse, these will naturally and slowly gradually "lengthen" the frenulum. Your foreskin will be retained by the walls of the vagina during penetrations and the comings and goings will end up stretching the frenulum and lengthening it. If your frenulum is really short, then it might also not stretch, but just tear and break, and then it won't bother you anymore. This is personally what happened to me at the age of 17 and I had no more problems thereafter. At the time, it's a little scary, because it bleeds a little. But that's nothing serious. You just have to clean and disinfect well. This is what seems to have happened also to "Uwasan" who also answered you on this subject. It can also happen while masturbating if you push back a little too much to uncover your glans. Otherwise, if you prefer to intervene and anticipate things, you can consult your doctor and ask him for a frenulectomy or a frenoplasty. This consists for the first, to cut and remove the frenulum under local anesthesia, and for the second to perform a small intervention under local anesthesia also, intended to lengthen the frenulum if you prefer to keep it intact. It's a matter of personal taste. Finally, there is a last solution that may be suitable if you do not want to talk about your problem to a doctor (it is sometimes embarrassing if you are shy), it is to perform a frenulectomy yourself at the home, with a simple, gentle method, without pain or bleeding, used by millions of men around the world, either culturally or preventively, which is called the "Tying-up" of the frenulum. There are several sites on the web that explain all this and I invite you to refer to them. I can guide you by private message if you are looking for links. 🙂
