Intense itching post circ

Currently on day 18 post circumcision now.

I have noticed for the past 2-3 days that i am having quite a lot of itching where the skin has been folded and stiched. All of my stitches are still in place, and none of them have fallen out yet. I suspect this may be causing the issue, but i can't be sure.

I also seem to have some minor rash type of eruptions on my shaft near the folded skin. My hunch is that this could be due to th fact that i wrap my penis in gauze when i sleep and sometimes also during the day, and this could be causing some irritation on the skin.

Would love any advice on how i can overcome both of these issues.

Thanks in advance!

Itching is a sign of healing so that is good. It is irritating but good. As for the rash it is most likely all the tape and gauze just keep an eye on it

Hi Gdawg20, itching means that it is healing well, please don't scratch, instead get a wet gauze and a little salt water and just clean/dab it around the wound area it a couple of times a day, hopefully the itching will go soon, but sounds with your description al is going well and healing nicely, hope this helps and god luck

Thanks!

I've been soaking in salt water 2-3times a day for the past 10 days.

I've also been lightly applying coconut oil to my glans and frenulum 3 times a day for teh past 2 days, and it's definitely helped my glans sensitivity a little bit, but this part is still driving me crazy. The swelling and the itching i can live with, but there has got to be a better way to deal with the sensitivity and to accelerate the desensitization process for the glans.

Also, is there any way to speed up the amount of time required for the stitches to fall out?

I'm coming up on 3 weeks now post my surgery, and all my stitches look solidly in place, none of them look or feel like they're goign to fall out any time soon.

Hey Gdawg20, sounds if you are doing all the correct procedures but I would slow down on the oil, sadly u cant rush the stiches they are dissolvable ones and you cant argue with them, if its 3 weeks keep washing gently as you are doing and they will drop out normally 3-4 weeks when the op site starts healing properly, good luck matey

Itching is good, sign of healing, but you need to give it as much fresh air as possible. No more gauze and you need to get the stitches out
