BXO remission?

I was diagnosed with BXO in 2014 due to white hard patches on my meatus resulting in a narrowed meatus and split urinary stream. I am already circumcised . A professor of Urology performed surgery on my glans and instructed me to self diliate regularly, for basically the rest of my life ( a very painful process). He didn't recommend any steroid creams, but suggested I would come back in probably five years for more surgery. In desperation I found a dermatologist in 2018 who is an expert in BXO and he suggested applying a potent clobetasol steroid cream. This had little to no benefit. In 2020 I read about the use of ginger root oil for various skin conditions in eastern herbal medicine, and tried tentitively applying it to my glans. Not only does ginger smell pleasant, I also don't have to wear a rubber glove, unlike applying the steroid cream. My dermatologist is astonished at the result and wants to use my story in peer reviews. My current urologist is also amazed at the condition of my glans, and is suggesting this option to his existing patients with BXO. My glans looks and feels normal and I pee totally straight again. I have had no symptoms for two years now. My Method: Wash and peel fresh ginger root. Shave/shred off enough to squeeze between two table spoons onto a teaspoon producing about half cc of oil. Apply to the affected skin. After about five applications over a few weeks, my BXO disappeared. Be careful, some skin types can cause burning, though this didn't happen to me. Sometimes it stung or felt warm, depending on the age/quality of the ginger I suppose. BXO is referred to as the Urologists Nightmare for a reason, and there has been minimal medical research in a hundred years. I hope my success can be replicated for all men suffering this horrible condition on such a precious possession!

Hello. Thanks for sharing your experience. it is very interesting. Do you squeeze ginger juice every day or can it be stored in the refrigerator? correctly I understood that you smeared the skin once a day, 5 days a week for several weeks? Are the white spots gone? Did your urologist tell you what results other people had?

I apply it fresh every few days. I don't know how well it keeps from a medicinal perspective.

I only discussed with my Urologist recently and don't need to see him for 12 months. He is overseas on holiday at the moment so I have had no chance for feedback.

No pics unfortunately, though the dermatologist took annual photos to compare.

I am curious. Have you tried it?

I am giving it a shot.

for bxo that is on the outside, not inside the penis, imagine an elastic band (if the BXO is going all the way around). Otherwise, it would look like a scar under the skin. Not raised. If you were to squeeze the skin where the scar tissue is, you likely would feel the skin is thicker. That's been my experience and what i've seen from others online. BXO can travel inward and cause more serious problems which is why they cut the skin away. But it can still happen after that and then you have no more skin to cut.

I applied it intermittently, as I was worried about damaging my glans skin, I mean, there isn't a textbook with instructions. I just started seeing a gradual improvement over a series of weeks. Maybe I just healed spontaneously regardless of ginger oil, its just that the urologist and the dermatologist had never seen that before. If you try it, let me know if you have the same success.

Yes I started trying after seeing your post....applied once 3 days ago...planning to apply every 3-4 days...I will update results. I still have white skin although they are not itchy..

Hi, you may have to apply more regularly, it took me months to see it disappear. It’s a very tough condition.

I can tell you that my BXO skin will feel smooth and as if it almost went away (when I don't play with my dick), but when I JO, the skin can get damaged from tearing and heal with small grooves in the skin. To avoid tearing, I just don't pull the skin back far and I still have plenty of motion. Sex is a different story and hence why I"m looking for a solution. I miss sex lol.

Hey thanks for this. Interesting. I looked up ginger root oil. If I may ask a few questions...

It seems that you can buy the stuff ready-made or that you can make it yourself.

~ Have you tried any of the ready-made stuff?

~ When you make the ginger root oil, do you mix it with say - coconut oil or some kind of other oil?

~ How long before the ginger root oil is ready to use, from when you first make it?

Thanks in advance! No harm in trying it.

Hi . I just grate and squeeze fresh ginger root after peeling and washing first. I don’t add anything to it. I don’t store it for later. I only produce about 1cc of liquid at a time, for immediate application. There are about 40 compounds in ginger and I don’t know what component gives the result so fresh is best

So when you grate and squeeze, oil just comes out? That is interesting.

I don't know anything much about the kitchen.

So you only use ginger and nothing else.

I will try it. Thanks!

OK...THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!! I've had BXO for around 2 years or coming close to it. The only answer medical people give (i've talked to my doctor, 2 dermatologist, and 2 urologists). All say the strong steroid cream is option 1, and if after 3mths it does nothing, snip snip. And the snip snip is cutting most of the foreskin off.

This creates risks seen in so many posts here. Sensitivity of the glands is lost. Tears when getting erect, or tight skin that hurts and feels like it is going to tear. (TEARING is what caused my BXO along with a lower immune system is my guess. The skin is thin and can micro tear so you should always take care. )

My BXO caused a full scar ring around the foreskin so that when I'm erect, it would sit about 1/2 way down the shaft and go all the way around. That skin is about 1-2mm tighter so I now can't pull my skin back much past the head without that scar ring preventing it from going further back. If I force it, I get micro tearing that stings later when I touch the skin (like a rug burn or paper cut stings). When I don't cause any stretching tears, the skin becomes smooth and is not appearing that bad. The scar still remains and that skin is not stretchy.

So I read collagen could help rebuild that tissue. Finding anything that creates that is worth a shot. Now I have something new to try. I saw there are things that break up scar tissue and I want to try them too.

Is anyone a mechanical engineer or know of devices that open when turned? Eg expansion bolt, expansion plug designs. The reason is that I want to stretch the skin so it tears but remains stretched and keep stretching it so it never contracts until after I've let it heal. I am hoping the scar tissue will break up and when healed, won't be as tight which would allow the foreskin to pull back, and not microtear any more. Any machanical designs would be helpful. I tried making something but it hasn't panned out yet. Eg. a small reverse clamp printed on a 3d printer.
