Can you describe the smell? Mine seems to be a dried blood/sweat smell. Might be the stitches too

Sounds like an infection. See your doctor.

It could also be part of the healing process, bath it twice daily sir. If i may even suggest, warm water with some table salt added, into a container or cup, drop him in for a few minutes to bath.
