Hi. Yes a cystoscope is the gold standard for looking inside the urethra and bladder. In your photo is your meatus on the side of your glans and not on very tip? Have you had a meatal dilation?
Hi yes It is on the very tip. I think it just how the photo was taken. Yes I did have dilation I think need to go see the urologist again but I have an appointment with the dermatologist first. Nightmare
And you can urinate ok and the flow is strong any problem starting and stopping
Yes can urinate ok no probs at all. What's the likelyness it gets worse? I went to see the urologist privately when I had the dilation. After surgery he said don't worry about the redness on the top.
When you had LS you can never say it is gone completely so it could return. It is good that you are going to the dermatologist see what they say.
from your photo I can't see any redness on the tip of your glans and I also can't see the opening at the tip. it seems to be further down the side. to me it looks like you may have glandular hypospadias but maybe it's just the photo?
If this is not the case then the opening your meatus looks to be fairly well closed at the tip of the glans?
Yes it is closing on the tip of the penis may be that's why the opening looks nearer the side. The picture was taken side ways also. The redness comes and goes some days stronger than other days. Thanks for your help with this. I am seeing a professor specialize in penile dermatology so I am hoping this will be sorted and I will book a urologist as well afterwards to do a dilation.
That's good that's the best thing to do. keep us informed I am interested in your or condition
Yes will do thank you. Are you in medical field or had similar experiences? Thanks again for the help.
No I'm not medic. I had a circumcision because of LS 6 years ago. and have had a few other things over the years
Did you recover fully or on going for you as well? It drives me crazy how do you cope with it?
Fortunately I recovered fully once I had the circumcision but as you know you always have to keep an eye out for it. I did have problems last year with a bladder infections and problems urinating they thought I might have had a blockage in my urethra. I can imagine it would drive you crazy
Ok update on this. I went to see the urologist today. He advised to have a urethroplasty remove the skin on the tip of the penis. And replace with other skin from elsewhere mouth I think. He says that will be a final solution instead having meatal dilation again. Basically more success rate with urethroplasty. I hope this will solve it. Special surgery and not many urologist can do this type of surgery so got referred to another urologist specialize this area.
Hi Man, thanks for the update and it's good to hear you are getting it sorted the urethroplasty would be your best option to finally remove any remaining LS that you have the meatal dilation wouldn't cure it.
it's not every urologist who would be able to do this kind of surgery they do take the skin graft from the inside of your cheek but it would be a very small area. Thanks again man and do keep us posted on your progress
