All I would say is do as the doctor says. I had my frenulum removed (along with a second circumcision) when I was 20 and it healed fine. My sons had their frenulums removed when they were circumcised as babies and healed very quickly, though I believe penises tend to heal more quickly at that age.
Yes. I had a tatty frenulum that was getting so sore it was ruining my sex life. At that time I didn't know there was a condition called frenulum breve so presented to my (female) GP who winced and suggested circumcision that would also cure my recurrent thrush. Surgeon only did the fren under a local. I'd say the worst part was the needles in base of penis to numb everything beyond but it was over in seconds. I only had two stitches and was sent home with the wound smeared with vaseline. It was painless and only felt a bit bruised when pressed (cat jumping on my lap wasn't welcomed).
I did have a slight infection a few days on with a bit of pus but another GP I saw prescribed penicilin and it cleared up OK. I did end up with a small tag just under the meatus and another like a small spike lower down the shaft but otherwise cosmetically great and the tags reduced over time. Sex afterwards was far better, the pain had gone, my foreskin didn't get in the way during intercourse and it seemed to shorten over the years. It would stay retracted if I wanted and naturally settled half covering my glans. There was a noticeable loss of sensitivity without the web however in my case it was the wrong sort of sensitivity in the first place and on balance I was happy. Hope this helps and good luck.
Hi Danny, Did you go through with the Frenulum removal? I am thinking of having the same - any feedback welcome.
