my son cotracted meningococal septicaemia four years ago and has had bilateral amputations and has kidney failure.

he is doing very well and is in full time school now. it is a devastating illness and its the longtime care that is the toughest. i am lucky to have a good family and group of friends. i cannot praise the nhs enough for their constant care not only for my son but also for my family.

Glad to here he is doing well, I to am a bilateral below knee amputee through this horrible illnes in April 2006. But at least we are both alive and able to enjoy life
