In recovery and had decided regardless of symptoms I was going to try a phased return after Easter. My question is as I also have asthma is it safe with this corona virus around?I work in a primary school as a TA.Missing working with the kids but it’s going to be challenging as noise lights and brain on go slow.

I feel this isn’t a good idea as at home you may feel better but I’m 6-7 weeks recovery and my eyes are terrible and I tried to work just for 4 hours a week and I couldn’t move by the Thursday.
Someone don’t me don’t t run before you can walk and it was true x
I think there are two issues here the after effects of meningitis and then Covid 19. For the after effects I would definitely go for a part time and phased return so you can adapt to the noise and commotion which may come as a bit of a shock, it did to me I don't work in a school. Secondly with Covid 19, I think the best thing to do is speak to the asthma nurse at your GP surgery, you can do a phone appointment with them so you don't necessarily have to go in to the surgery. It's not really possible to say whether it's a good idea or not without things like access to your medical records (for peak flow and O2 sats etc.).
I also work in a school as a teacher. I have now been off for 4 and a half months as still experiencing symptoms. Tried to go back on reduced hours twice. Both times I went in for a meeting and was really poorly afterwards. The lights really affected me and triggered very bad headaches which lasted for days. I am hoping to give it another go after Easter but worried that it is never going to be right... I am doing some admin things at home now to try to build up stamina really but every day varies. It is very frustrating but I think we have to keep an open mind. There is a rota so not all staff are in every day for children of key workers but I am not sure I could go straight back in without shorter hours. But then I would either leave staff numbers short or be an extra and the advice is to only have minimum numbers of staff needed! Such a strange and confusing situation. Stay safe and get well soon x
