Hi there, my friend is currently in hospital in an induced coma with suspected bacterial meningitis. They can't perform a lumbar puncture as it would be dangerous due to the fluid build up. Does anyone know how long the fluid takes to reduce? This is now day 3. She had had CT scans and is now scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. They seem concerned about the left side of her body. Advice from anyone would be gratefully received. We are so scared there will be brain damage. Thank you x

Didn’t. Want to read and run, just wanted to say I hope your friend is improving, it’s such a dreadful thing to go through. Have they started broad spectrum anti booties? They usually do that until they can match a antibiotic through the lumber result. CTry not to worry too much about the brain damage at this point. It’s a massive spectrum. It could be small or severe or somewhere in between. Maybe none at all. It’s just going to be one day at a time now. It’s a very very long process. Just be ther for your friend now. Sending lots of prayers to you and your friend. 💕💕💕
