Hi I’m from Russia so sorry for my English. I think I might have meningitis, but doctors disregard my suspicions. I have pain in back of my neck and subfebrile fewer (37.4). I feel very extraordinarily unwell. But I don’t have a headache except neckpain. Is headache always there with meningitis or not? Thank you. I’m very very scared.

Is there always a headache when you have meningitis?
I did not have a headache before I was diagnosed with encephalomeningitis, nor in fact a neck ache, my garbled speech was the first sign. I developed a sore neck a few days after diagnosis and persistent headaches developed a few months after. I had some moderate headaches coming and going shortly after diagnosis, before the more nasty headaches developed about 3 months post diagnosis. I hope this helps, I appreciate how scary it feels. Best of luck to you, I hope you find some answers very soon.
Oh my god...how did you manage to have correct diagnosis? Can I ask was it a bacterial or viral meningitis? How do you feel now? And also... did you have fever or nausea or something like that? I’ve been to ER yesterday. They completely ignored my symptoms. Arhhhh(
How are you doing? I hope you have managed to find some answers/are feeling better.
Sadly, I feel worse and still ignored by doctors. They look into classic signs only and disregard my concerns, while i still have fever and my head and neck pain got worse
Hello, I had bacterial meningitis in August last year and have never suffered with headaches before or after, I know many people do. I also had a very sore neck which I still have from time to time. Insist your doctor does tests for you.
