My sister (52 years) has been diagnosed with TB meningitis and in hospital for past two months. Initially she was with life support but now both ventilator and oxygen has been removed since past 15 days as she is breathing normal. But still nasal feeding is on. She is opening eyes and responding to questions with nods but not able to speak. Can anyone say how long will it take to regain full recovery?
TB Meningitis: My sister (52 years) has been... - Meningitis Now
TB Meningitis
hello, i know how u felt for i am still experiencing it with my father till now. He was diagnosed having HYDROCEPHALUS with TB MENINGITIS last december. how's your sister now? my father still in recovery stage and i don't know when will he recover and learn to remember us.
Let us learn to be patient and pray to God .
I hope you get good information and support from the medics who are treating your sister. And I suspect their answer to your question is along the lines of “how long is a piece of string?”
Your poor sister has been very unwell, but sounds as if she is making small steps on the road to recovery. I doubt anyone here can give you an accurate timeline, as obviously each person is different, and how their brains and bodies have been affected will be different even with the same diagnosis.
I would caution you that it will probably take longer than you would hope and like - so do make sure to look after yourself well with eating and sleeping to maintain your health as you support your sister in whatever form. Sending you strength to cope, and best wishes for your sister’s continued recovery.
