I would love to get some answers. I am seeing a neurologist soon, i would like to know how they helped you. And what they can do for me. I’m on 1500mg of Gabapentin. 4 months post Meningoencephalitis. Daily headaches, some days worse than others. I also sleep a lot.
Anyone with info after seeing neurologist would be appreciated

I have been attending regular neurology outpatients appointment since I got BM in October 2016. I attend a teacging hospital known as specialist in head injuries in Ireland. Its helpful to go with a list if concerns and noting any comments made by people who knew you before you were ill.
My neurologist made a referral to neuropsychology, which I'm attending this week. I did go privately a few month back but I couldn't afford to keep the appointments up.
If you are suffering any after affects, do attend. Even just hearing from them that these affects are normal was enough to put my mind at ease. My gp was weary about medication and I am also not a fan but my headaches became so bad that neurology put me on some. While they help treat pain, ó don't like the sluggish feeling they give me.
I also recommend cranial osteopathy. I had two sessions (looking for a new practice solely because I can't cope with the the stairs) but I did feel somewhat better.
So, yes do go to one and ask for the assistance that you need.
