Fever of unknown origin leads to coma

Please help

My name is Shifa, I am an emergency doctor

My mom is critically ill and I need help.

She have been had fever of unkown origin for 2 months

The work up has been done but the result was normal

Two week ago she started to be aparhic and lethargic, then the conscious started to got impaired

Now she is comatose with GCS of 7

She is having animeningil meds، in my country Tuberculosis is an endemic disease so she is taking an anti tuberculosis meds

But there isno response

I don't know what the problem is exactly, doctors suspect aseptic meningitis

She also got hospital aquired pneumonia.

Her cas is detriorating and we are looking and can't di anything

Plus we live in a country suffering from war so we can't ecen take her outside the country to get a proper treatment

Now i am worried, how long this come will last!

What is the cause of coma

Hello. Sorry your mother is so ill. On here we are not doctors but people who have had meningitis (or knows someone who has/had it). My thought is a lumbar puncture with CSF drawn off and tested in the lab, with PCR if necessary, would confirm meningitis and whether it's TB, bacterial or viral. Then the correct meds can be prescribed. Just trying to help. Virtual hugs.
